Fair Trade - From Coffee to Clothing Collection
After the success of the Fair Trade coffee brand and last months launch of the Fair Indigo clothing website, the Fair Trade brand is now bringing it's clothing range to the High Street, well at least to America's shopping mall's initially.

The Fair Trade coffee brand has been growing at 75% per year and although the group are approached constantly to "Fair Trade" brand other products theyonly take on one product range per year. They are currently researching the wine market with a view to giving Fair Trade certification to wines that meet their criteria.

Last month, Fair Indigo, the website offering "fair-trade" fashion aimed at high street, middle-market consumers was launched. The initial Fair Indigo store will openin November in Madison, USA.

There are others in the "ethical" clothing market too;

American Apparel Inc the clothierr known for its cutting edge brandingadvertising, runs its own factory in .A. and promotes the fact that it's workers are paid above average wages and bonus all within the USA.

Bono is also in on the act with the clothing label Edun using natural products produced in vetted small factories in Africa, South Africa and India using eco-friendly materials.

Levi Strass too have their "Eco" branded jeans made in the USA. They currently retail at $250 although a cheaper price range aimed at high street stores is expected shortly.
